TOP SECRET GOLF COURSE FOUND IN NEVADA! | GOLF VLOG 2

Ok, ok this is not really a top secret golf course. But the entrance made me feel like it was with the camera, gate, desolate area and the fact that it was in Nevada and not far from the famous area 51.

The golf course is actually called Cascata golf course in Boulder City, Nevada. It’s about 30 minutes from the Vegas strip in the middle of nowhere. Designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2000.

We’re also going to give away some Kirkland (Costco) golf balls so be sure to watch the part on how to enter to win. Price is 2 dozen balls.

Story about a lady living in the caves on the course: 15:53

Fun Facts:
1. Tiger use to play here all the time when he was taking lessons with Butch Harmon. We actually played what the caddie called the Tiger tees. They’re not market and are allllll the way back. Roughly 7,400 yards.

2. The golf course cost $58 million to build and took 100,000 pounds of dynamite to carve through the mountains.

3. During construction of the course the crew discovered a lady living in one of the caves off of the now 16th hole. They had to pay her to leave because she was somehow legally there. Word has it she moved to another cave not far away and still lives in the hills. Kinda creepy.

4. The course has a 418 foot waterfall starting at the peak of the mountain running down and through the clubhouse. Simply amazing.

Why we played here:
We were in Vegas for a conference and decided to take a half day and play some golf. The weather was brutal at 41 degrees with a solid 10-15 mph wind. Mike shot 77 and took a triple on one hole. I fired an 86. Overall not too bad considering we rarely play in weather under 60. Spoiled, I know.

What you need to know:
1. It’s not cheap. It was $250/each and I’m pretty sure it gets more expensive during peak season.

2. The food is so-so. We only had one thing off the menu each but both of our experiences were the same, nothing special and slightly over priced.

3. The greens are amazing. They were rolling at about an 11 on the stimpmeter and in excellent shape. About what you expect at the price point.

4. Don’t play there in January. Unless you’re from somewhere very very cold and don’t mind 40 degree weather. They had 15 tee times on the day we went out. And we still ran into people…

5. The staff were exceptional. Everyone we encountered was very nice, especially our caddie Drew.
